Rising Communicator Scholarship Applications Guidelines

Students must meet the following criteria:
  • Student must be enrolled enrolled in at least nine undergraduate hours and majoring in a field of communications.
  • Student must be a member in good standing of an AWC student chapter affiliated with the Tulsa Professional Chapter (OSU or TU).
  • Student must have completed their Freshman year of undergraduate study before applying.
  • Applicant must attend the November AWC Tulsa Professional Chapter luncheon meeting at Philbrook Museum of Art.
Recipient Selection is based on:
  • Demonstrated excellence in communications.
  • Positive contributions toward communications on campus and/or in the community.
  • Scholastic achievement.
Applicants must submit the following:
  • A one-page resume that includes school activities, internships, jobs, professional activities, honors and achievements.
  • A 300-500 essay describing why the nominee has chosen the field of communications and how they will use that profession to make a difference.
  • Two letters of recommendation from people with academic or professional experience in communications.
  • College transcripts. Photocopies are acceptable. Do not send transcripts separately.
