The AWC Professional Scholarship

In 2007, the Tulsa chapter introduced the AWC Professional Scholarship. The Professional Scholarship is designed to promote and support Tulsa AWC members’ pursuit of higher education and professional development in the field of communications.

All professional members in good standing of the Tulsa chapter are eligible to receive scholarship funding for career development. Two Professional Scholarships worth $1,000 each are awarded each year in April.

Scholarships may be used toward any type of education, including university study (graduate or undergraduate), professional certification, seminars, conferences or professional workshops. The course chosen must begin within 12 months of winning the award.

Winners are selected by the student chapter liaison chairs and the chapter president based on the following criteria:

• Value and caliber of the chosen educational opportunity
• Quality of the essay
• Prior dedication to education
