A Dynamic Group of Communicators The Association for Women in Communications is the prevailing communications organization for those working and serving in diverse, but related, communications professions. More than 7,500 communicators belong to AWC. While based in the United States, the organization also has a rapidly growing number of international members. There are more than 120 professional and student chapters across the nation and overseas.
Modern communicators must demonstrate competence in varied disciplines and be able to network and make career moves across the broad spectrum of communications fields. Disciplines represented within the association include: print and broadcast journalism, television and radio production, film, advertising, public relations, marketing, graphic design, multi-media design, and photography. The list is continually growing as the profession expands into the newer media. AWC is dedicated to leading progressive change in the communications professions through information exchange, leadership, professional development and technology. Student chapters are AWC's lifeblood. From them, the association draws much of its enthusiasm and many of its new members. The chapters offer students help in building strong academic and professional careers through networking on campus and with nearby professional members. © Copyright 2003 AWC: Tulsa Professional Chapter Site design by Scizzortell.
