Join us on April 1 as former Mayor Kathy Taylor shares the collective work of the ImpactTulsa partners in our community. Taylor currently serves as CEO of ImpactTulsa, an unprecedented partnership of local community leaders from education, business, civic, non-profit, philanthropy, and the faith community, including school districts that represent 90% of Tulsa area students.
Utilizing nationally recognized best practices; ImpactTulsa partners are working collectively to impact student outcomes by sharing accountability, measuring what matters, identifying what’s working and to help align community and education resources to scale best practices. The vision of the ImpactTulsa partners is to guarantee a high-quality education to all students.
Taylor’s distinguished record of public service includes her term as Tulsa Mayor from 2006 – 2009. Her administration led the way to create afters chool and mentoring programs and launched the city’s first entrepreneur business competition. Taylor has also served in various capacities in state government: as Oklahoma’s Secretary of Commerce, Tourism and Workforce Development and Executive Director of the Department of Commerce, and as the Governor’s Chief of Education Strategy and Innovation. In 2012, Taylor was a resident fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics where she taught “Pathways to Public Service”.
